Where’s My Android Phone

Ever encounter this situation… you’re at home and you can’t find your mobile phone so you try using someone else’s phone to ring yours and you remember that you set the ringer to silent. Blast!
Well, with a handy little free Google Android app called Where’s My Droid you’ll never encounter that scenario again! You see, with Where’s My Droid you simply set up an personal “attention word” and when you can’t locate your phone you simply text containing your “attention word” your Google Android powered mobile phone. When the phone receives the text it will turn your ringer volume up, even if the phone is set to silent, and ring for the amount of time you chose in the settings.
As far as phone location this Android application serves the basic need. There is no GPS locator with this app but for definitely works great when you know your phone is near by! You can read more about this Android app of the developers page for Where’s My Droid where you can download the .apk file or you can visit the Android Market on your phone.
I use this same theme for a different website of mine and was scoping out other sites with this theme for ideas about the header when I came across your Android post. I just got the Droid about a week ago and LOVE it. I remember the salesman saying something about this app but I’d forgotten about it. I’m going to download it now because I’ve been known to misplace my phone a time or two…thanks for the tip!

I’m quite fond of this theme and yes, this app is great and works as intended! I’ve had the need for this app a few times myself. The reason I use this app, there are others, is because it turns the volume up even when my phone is in silent mode!!
we my husband bought me the moto droid about a week and a half ago and i lost it the other day. i wish i had know about this app before hand and maybe i would have my phone now. this should have been one of the app they advertised when they were releasing the phone. i dont understand why verixon cant gps track the phone anyway withouth this it has a freakin gps on it that just doesnt make sense to me. but when the insurance sends my new one this will be the first app i download!
